The Basics to Rifle Shooting class will educate students on proper and safe gun handling, rifle parts and how they work, ammunition,  safe rifle storage, cleaning and maintenance, the Eligibility Certificate to Purchase Long Guns application process, and more. This is the course that is needed in order to obtain an Eligibility Certificate to Purchase Long Guns and each student will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the 8-hour class. Students of various ages can take this class, but only students who are 18 years old or older can apply for the State's Eligibility Certificate to Purchase Long Guns, which allows Certificate holders to purchase rifles, shotguns, and ammunition.
